Defining the Glory of Jesus Christ

What is man’s greatest need? It is to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, in order to then dwell in His holy presence, now and forever! This is illustrated quite well in the story of Martha & Mary (Luke 10:38-42), when Mary chooses to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His teaching while Martha was busy about the house completing chores she determined to have greater significance. Why is it so customary for us as human beings to think we must work hard to become acceptable to God, to earn His grace? Jesus indicates that Mary made the better choice. We have that same choice to make for ourselves! “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works…” (Ephesians 2:8,9). God created us to enjoy Him! And that will come if, and when, we finally decide to trust Him who is more trutworthy than we are, even to ourselves! “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Have you reached out to receive this gift from God to you, yet? If not, why not? In doing so, you just may catch a sense of His glory! MORE
